Everywhere I go I seem to see wood crates… in garden centres, fashion shops, food shops, independent stores, anywhere really and they’re mostly used for displays rather than actual storage.
I can see why they’re everywhere because they very nice! Rustic, vintage, solid, and very flexible in use… so I thought I’d make my own!
My own DIY crate
So here’s how it turned out and I have to say I’m pretty impressed with how it turned out.
I had some old pallet wood lying around which had been weathered and so materials didn’t cost anything. I finished it off with a spray painted Jack Daniels logo, and will see about adding different logos to further crates I made such as fruit, etc.
- 4 x long sides
- 4 x short sides
- 4 x bottom sections
- 4 corners
- nails
I’ll definitely be making more and not only do they look nice but they’re actually very useful for storage too! Who Knew?!
And a final top tip… leave the crates outside to weather further!
