I hope you all had a good Christmas. I know I did and can’t wait to get back outside, getting more active, and shedding the festive pounds and I thought I would share what I got as my main present from my lovely wife…. a chicken coop!
We’ve now we’ve been in our new house for a year, have got the garden (partially) sorted, and sorted out quite a lot of the indoors I feel that chickens would be a great addition to our home.
It wasn’t actually much of a surprise as I chosen the one I wanted on Amazon and had to carry it in when it arrived but it was great opening it and I even started putting it together on Boxing Day! It only took bout 40 minutes to put together as it came flatpacked and I could’ve probably done it quicker but didn’t want to get any of it wrong. The only part left to do it the attached run but I’ll do that when it goes outside. It’ll need a coating of wood preserver to make it weather proof so let’s hope this poor weather passes soon.
I’m also going to look at extending the run too so that they have more space for when I’m not letting them roam around in the garden.
All that’s left now is to buy the chickens and I got an I.O.U from my Mum for 3 chickens and will get those in a couple of months time when Spring is around the corner. It’s going to be fun deciding which ones to get
